Rachael
was born in Toledo, Ohio. She has a BFA in Art from the
Columbus College of Art and Design, and as an artist she brings a very creative approach to yoga. She began practicing yoga when she moved
to New York in the mid 90's and has studied various styles of yoga throughout New York
City. She
graduated from the 200 hour World Yoga Center Teacher Training Program in 2000 and completed the rigorous
500 hour teacher training program at the Dharma Mittra Yoga Center in 2010.
She
has
taught yoga in Ohio,
Michigan, Central New York, and New York City. From
2003-2007, she held the position of Director of Complementary
Medicine at Heritage Health Care Center
in Utica, NY. It was there that she was able to incorporate yoga
based therapies into the
facility's protocol.
Rachael has taught in a wide variety of
venues; including private sessions, yoga studios, gyms, senior centers, college sports programs,
and community centers. A series of yoga classes that she taught at the
Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute was featured in German Shape magazine and then distributed by the Associated Press in 2006.
